Foi com um olhar atento nas decorações em cerâmica que visitei a Casa Cor no Conjunto Nacional em São Paulo em junho de 2023. Pode-se observar na exposição muitas peças em cerâmica, tanto artesanal como industrial, nos belos ambientes decorados por arquitetos renomados. Em minha opinião nesta exposição predominaram os grandes vasos para plantas e decorações de terraços e jardim, especialmente os belissimos vasos importados de origem Asiática. Pessoalmente fiquei surpresa também com a quantidade e as variações nas peças de cerâmica apresentadas, que mostravam uma tendência para o rústico, principalmente modelagens da argila no biscoito, com ou sem brunido típicas de artesanatos do Nordeste do Brasil. Apesar destas serem peças mais simples, como foram muito bem colocadas nos seus ambientes por profissionais especializados, sua apresentação ficou, em geral, muito delicada, suave, em tom-sobre-tom.
A visita a estes ambientes planejados e a observação de seus objetos e detalhes me deu a sensação de elegância e bem-estar. Cada peça fotografada tem uma beleza particular: algumas se salientam por suas formas originais, outras pela textura, pelo tipo de massa cerâmica utilizada, ou a técnica de confecção e eventualmente a pintura e a esmaltação. A maioria da peças são muito belas e nos enchem os olhos!
Em uma observação mais crítica como artista e ceramista, senti falta na exposição de peças mais sofisticadas com esmaltação vitrificada e coloridos mais vibrantes, que foram bem raras nesta edição da Casa Cor. Por outro lado como professora universitária o que realmente me surpreendeu negativamente foi a falta de informação sobre os autores das peças cerâmicas. Este fato também me impossibilita de, nestes blogs sobre a Casa Cor dar o crédito aos autores das peças artísticas aqui mostradas. Em toda a exposição observei apenas 2 peças cerâmicas com o crédito dado aos autores, e em contato com a ceramista Elizethe Potye ela me informou sobre as peças de sua confecção apresentadas na mostra. Entende-se que o foco da Casa Cor está nos ambientes decorados, e que pode ser complexo o trabalho de dar crédito a todos os artistas e artesãos que tiveram suas peças expostas, entretanto considero esta especificação absolutamente necessária e legítima. Sendo assim proponho que caso seja identificada a autoria de qualquer peça cerâmica mostrada nestes blogs, esta informação me seja fornecida (ewieseceramics@gmail.com) para que eu possa dar o crédito autoral que acredito ser de direito do/a autor/a.
O objetivo destes blogs sobre as cerâmicas da Casa Cor São Paulo 2023 tem em mente oferecer uma fonte de inspiração a ceramistas, artistas, arquitetos, decoradores, e outros interessados em arte, mostrando as tendências mais atuais no uso de peças cerâmicas na decoração de ambientes.
Para facilitar a apresentação dos blogs selecionei as peças que julguei interessantes de serem mostradas, e as classifiquei como: cerâmicas autorais, esculturas em cerâmica, esculturas de parede em cerâmica, vasos decorativos em massa cerâmica clara, vasos decorativos em massa cerâmica tabaco ou escura, vasos decorativos em cerâmica esmaltados ou pintados em cores, vasos decorativos em massa cerâmica preta ou esmaltados ou pintados em preto, vasos para plantas e flores, jarras e ânforas, pratos e utilitários, vasos grandes para interiores, terraços e jardins.
It was with a close eye on ceramic decorations that I visited Casa Cor at Conjunto Nacional in São Paulo in June 2023. Many ceramic pieces, both handmade and industrial, can be seen in the exhibition in the beautiful environments decorated by renowned architects. In my opinion, in this exhibition, large vases for plants and decorations for terraces and gardens predominated, especially the beautiful vases imported from Asia. Personally, I was also surprised by the quantity and variations in the ceramic pieces presented, which showed a tendency towards the rustic, mainly modeling clay on biscuit, with or without burnishing, typical of handicrafts of the Northeast of Brazil. Despite these being simpler pieces, as they were very well placed in their environments by specialized professionals, their presentation was, in general, very delicate, smooth, in tone-on-tone.
Visiting these planned environments and observing their objects and details gave me a feeling of elegance and well-being. Each piece photographed has a particular beauty: some stand out for their original shapes, others for the texture, the type of ceramic mass used, or the technique of making and eventually painting and enamelling. Most of the pieces are very beautiful and fill our eyes!
In a more critical observation as an artist and ceramist, I missed the exhibition of more sophisticated pieces with vitrified enamel and more vibrant colors, which were very rare in this edition of Casa Cor. On the other hand, as a university professor, what really surprised me negatively was the lack of information about the authors of the ceramic pieces. This fact also makes it impossible for me, in these blogs about Casa Cor, to give credit to the authors of the artistic pieces which photos are shown here. In the entire exhibition, I observed only 2 ceramic pieces with the credit given to the authors, and in contact with the ceramist Elizethe Potye, she informed me about the pieces of her production presented in the exhibition. It is understood that Casa Cor’s focus is about the decorated environments, and that the job of giving credit to all the artists and craftsmen who had their pieces exhibited can be complex, however I consider this specification to be absolutely necessary and legitimate. Therefore, I propose that if the authorship of any ceramic piece which photo is shown in these blogs is identified, this information can be provided to me (ewieseceramics@gmail.com) so that I can give the authorial credit that I believe is the author’s right.
The objective of these blogs about the ceramics at Casa Cor São Paulo 2023 is to offer a source of inspiration to potters, artists, architects, decorators, and others interested in art, showing the most current trends in the use of ceramic pieces in the decoration of environments .
To facilitate the presentation of the blogs, I selected the pieces that I thought were interesting to be shown, and classified them as: authorial ceramics; ceramic sculptures; ceramic wall sculptures; decorative vases in light colour ceramic mass; decorative vases in tobacco or dark colour ceramic mass; decorative ceramic vases enameled or painted in colour; decorative vases in black ceramic mass or enamelled or painted in black; vases for plants and flowers; jars and amphorae; dishes and utensils; and large vases for interiors, terraces and gardens.
